The Sustainability Summit reflects Sass Dlacia’s broader commitment to responsible tourism

By fostering dialogue, innovation, and collaboration, we continue to support tourism models that balance environmental protection, cultural authenticity, and community well-being.

Sustainability as a long-term commitment

Set at over 2,000 meters in the spectacular Dolomites, the summit took place at Ütia de Börz, our mountain refuge that perfectly reflects the values of authenticity, environmental respect, and South Tyrolean tradition. Young professionals and tourism experts came together to exchange ideas, experiences, and concrete solutions for a more sustainable tourism model.

How can tourism evolve to protect fragile mountain environments while creating real value for local communities?

These questions were at the heart of the Sustainability Summit held at Passo delle Erbe, an event promoted by Sass Dlacia together with Destinaction and the Tourism Cooperative of San Vigilio di Marebbe.

Key topics

Discussions focused on three main areas shaping the future of tourism:

  • Food waste management, with practical approaches to reducing waste and applying circular economy principles within hospitality and tourism.
  • Sustainable tourism experiences, exploring ways to respect natural cycles, local culture, and communities while offering meaningful, high-quality visitor experiences.
  • Socioeconomic impact, highlighting how well-managed tourism can support rural and mountain regions by creating long-term economic opportunities without compromising their identity.

The summit concluded with a guided workshop aimed at transforming shared insights into concrete project ideas. The result was a true laboratory of innovation, empowering a new generation of tourism professionals to actively shape a more sustainable and inclusive future.
